Who Can Apply: Home of the SHEROES Program
The Home of the SHEROES Program is open to single female veterans seeking stable, independent housing.
Each cottage accommodates one individual. The program prioritizes women veterans who:
- Are currently experiencing homelessness or are at imminent risk of homelessness
- Face barriers to securing stable housing
- Have demonstrated at least six (6) months of stability in recovery, including participation in a sober‑living or recovery‑supportive environment.
- Are motivated to engage in housing stabilization planning and supportive services
- Are capable of participating in an independent living environment
The Home of the SHEROES Program is not a clinical program and does not operate as an emergency shelter or treatment facility. The program does not operate as a reentry or post‑incarceration transitional housing program. It is a supportive housing program that provides temporary residence (typically up to 12 months) in a safe, structured environment. Participants are supported through community partner–provided services, designed to help veterans build stability and successfully transition to permanent, independent housing.
