We find ourselves in a difficult situation, due to the severe weather event we had on 10 October 2021. The high velocity winds and torrential rains ripped apart the cover of our Aquaponics garden, rendering it unrepairable. As you may know, our eventual goal is to make Valor Ranch as self-sustaining as possible. The Aquaponics Garden is central to that goal as the 20’ x 60’ garden has the potential to feed over 270 people a week.
Our organization is actively involved in Building Thriving Communities among Veterans, to help them through difficulties often experienced as they navigate the military to community transition. We have developed strategies to narrow the “civilian-military divide” by bringing together Veterans and supporters, to work side by side, to build infrastructure and perform farm chores. These activities reduce Veteran isolation and help them feel more connected to others. It also gives those who don’t know any military members or Veterans an opportunity to meet some of “the 1%” who volunteered to fight for our country.
We have been successful only through your support and others like you who have offered us help with monetary donations, in-kind support, prayers, and volunteering. But, to continue the good work we are doing, and specifically, to get our Aquaponics Garden up and running, we request you kindly make a generous donation of any amount prior to 5 November 2021. Proceeds from this targeted drive will be used primarily for the purchase and shipment of replacement Commercial Covers ($6000 from Alaska Structures). One donor has already pledged to match up to the first $2500 collected. Your donation will make a big impact and bring us closer to our goal.

2021, Valor Ranch hosted the first remote, and physically distanced Freedom Day community service project on 9/11 activating 64 volunteers and "22" organizations to build a community Aquaponic garden with the potential to feed up to 270 people per week.
WAIT! There's more...
34% of the garden was completed on 9/11 leaving 66% to complete.
The produce garden will feed SHEROES in transition, provide a source of revenue from farmers' markets as well as help those in the community who have been affected by COVID-19. The fish utilized in maintaining the aquaponic garden will also provide another food resource.
This community project is one that continues to give as volunteers will grow their knowledge in the art of setting-up and maintaining an aquaponic garden. Volunteers will leave with a skillset that can be utilized at another greenhouse facility or to grow their own personal garden.
Please contact us to help with the service project...gather to do the good!
